The Kenya Chamber of Mines would like to urge all members of the public to actively participate in the Public hearing meetings for two crucial bills, The Gold Processing Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 46 of 2023) and The Mining (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 51 of 2023), that are scheduled to take place across various counties. These bills will shape the future of our nation’s mining industry and have a significant impact on our communities.

We urge each and every one of you to actively participate in these public hearings. This is your opportunity to express your opinions, concerns, and suggestions directly to your representatives. Your input can influence the final outcome of these bills and ensure that they align with the interests of our people and our nation.

In the unfortunate event that you are unable to attend the public hearings in person, your voice can still be heard. We encourage you to share your views and opinions through our various communication channels. Whether it’s through email, social media, or traditional mail, every opinion matter.

Remember, the deadline for submitting your views is approaching fast. Please make sure to share your thoughts before the 6th of May. This will allow us to compile all the feedback into a comprehensive memorandum to be presented to Parliament on your behalf.

Let’s come together as a community and actively participate in shaping the future of our mining industry. Together, we can make a difference!
